The subject I choose to represent dictates the shape of the finished piece of art. When working on an octopus sculpture, for example, the tentacles demonstrate the movement of the creature and the flow of the ocean currents.
The forms I use have layers of textures and methods of decoration to enhance the body of the subject, bringing to life the finished piece.

THE MESSAGE
BEHIND MY WORK
My hope is that by creating ceramics that present marine life in its true form, it will evoke in others a strong connection to the life that exists, which largely remains hidden from view. I aspire to develop and enhance in others a love for all life and see the need to change attitudes to single use products being used.
By doing this I hope to create the opportunity for others to form their own connection between their actions and the impact we all have on our marine world.
